What is SPIRITUS Breathwork?

SPIRITUS Breathwork is a form of conscious-connected breathwork blended with Somatics and Shamanic energy to assist the body to enter into altered states for healing and transformation.

SPIRITUS Breathwork uses the breath to help activate the Sympathetic Nervous System to help complete interrupted Nervous System cycles which may be frozen or stuck due to past trauma’s, experiences and/or chronic levels of stress. Through the breath we get to explore our body, stored emotions, and parts of ourselves we have previously exiled, suppressed or repressed, so that we can allow release, acceptance and healing.

SPIRITUS Breathwork uses breath, sound and movement to guide the body back to its innate wisdom, its ability to heal itself.

In SPIRITUS Breathwork, our breath becomes the medicine.

What to Expect?

You can expect a range of physical, emotional, spiritual and mental effects in a SPIRITUS Breathwork session. It is also important to note that every SPIRITUS Breathwork experience will be different from one session to another.  Let go of your expectations, and work with what arises. Allow the breath to guide you to exactly where you need to be each time. The sessions are 90 minutes in length.

What makes SPIRITUS Breathwork unique?

The uniqueness of this breathwork is the creation of Ceremonial space. In Ceremonial Breathwork, we are not just using our breath - our breath becomes the bridge between the worlds. We are creating a ceremonial space that acknowledges the sacred, the presence of our guides and our ancestors, those that bear witness to our transformation and healing. We are utilizing the unseen presence to create healing and transformation.

Contraindications:

1. Breathwork is incredibly powerful and isn’t for everyone because it brings in a lot of physical and psychological changes.  There are specific conditions and illnesses that are contraindicated for breathwork. 

2. Safety is of the utmost importance in these sessions.  One has to be ready to receive such a deep and powerful experience.

3. Please take a look at below contraindications and be very honest and authentic with yourself if these are challenges you are currently living with or have had in the past.

   1. Pregnancy

   2. Epilepsy

   3. Ocular issues (detached retina or glaucoma)

   4. Heart disease / attacks / irregularities

   5. High or Low Blood pressure that is not controlled

   6. Osteoporosis

   7. Asthma

   8. Aneurism Past or Present

   9. Strokes

   10. Blood Thinning / Anti-Clotting Medication

   11. Bipolar or Schizophrenia

   12. If hospitalized in the last 10 years for emotional crisis

   13. PTSD

   14. Other physical / Psych / Medical condition

   15. Heavy Mind Altering Medication  (antipsychotic, depression and anxiety medications)

   16. Recreation Drugs / Psychedelics / Plant Medicine (At least one week since last ingested before doing a Breathwork journey)

   17. Intoxication (No alcohol within 48 hours)

Note:   If you have any of the above, please connect with me, because although you may not be able to do a deep breathwork journey, I can still offer somatic tracking, felt sense experience or restorative breath to connect in and feel grounded.
